Prism Builds is a locally owned construction company with over 30 years of solid construction project skills for large or small jobs. We need experienced Journeymen, Foreman and General Laborers to join a company that puts quality first in all you do – no job is too big or too small. Job Summary
Your experience in carpentry, concrete work, demolition, framing, drywall, excavation, tiling, and/or any other general labor makes you an excellent candidate. We’re looking for a team player who knows how to use personal hand tools, power tools and/or operating larger equipment. If you consistently demonstrate a hard-working, reliable, and quick to learn ability you’re the right person for Prism Builds.
Some projects may require you to travel outside of the area and transport materials and equipment, so having a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus, but not a requirement.
Responsibilities
Help build commercial and residential structures
Perform carpentry work
Key worker for a Construction project includes framing and scaffolding
Maintain a clean and safe job site
Able to maintain hours and schedule that stay within proposed costs
Work with little supervision and also be a part of a team to complete construction projects
Some projects may require you to travel outside of Douglas and Elbert County to transport materials and equipment.
Must provide own transportation
Must be able to lift 80-100 pounds
Must be able to use hand and power tools which will be provided by Prism
Journeyman must be able to oversee project laborer staff
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED certificate
Valid driver’s license
2 years of construction experience for general laborer
6 years of construction experience for Journeyman
Knowledge of framing decks and pole barns, remodels
Able to use hand tools and power tools provided by Prism Builds
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to read blueprints
Good management skills
Physical stamina, manual dexterity and ability to lift 80-100 pounds
General Laborer
Pay range $16-$20 an hour
- Prism will provide basic tools, but you must be proficient in using them.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 to 100 pounds consecutively throughout the day.
- Individuals will be accountable for project cleanliness daily.
- Individuals will follow guidance and direction from lead personnel.
- Load and off load trucks.
- Must have transportation.
- Must be able to work from heights not exceeding 30 ft.
- Must follow Prism Builds Safety requirements.
- Assisting in Equipment maintenance and reporting of any issues.
- Tardiness will not be tolerated as noted in the company Handbook.
- Must have entry level skill set in using basic power tools and hand tools.
Journeyman
Pay range $20-$24 an hour
- Will oversee all project laborer staff.
- Individual has performed all duties of the laborer position above and will always aid in the duties of the laborer.
- Must be proficient with basic power tools.
- Must be proficient in knowing all building “Pack” parts and placement of parts.
- Must perform off-loads and material inventory and documentation of the load.
- Must be able to completely understand all building processes of all project tasks.
- Must be able to read all drawings / plans and architectural callouts as noted.
- Must be able to troubleshoot problems as they arise and communicate these issues to upper management Immediately.
- Must be a leader regarding laborer advancement and training. Utilize all labor staff to aid in your project and production skills.
- Must interact with all customers in a respectful manner.
- Must work with project Foreman and begin to understand Prism’s C.O. process.
- Equipment operations under direct Foreman supervision. Equipment Maintenance and issue reporting.
- Tardiness will not be tolerated as noted in the company handbook.
*Periodic Performance and plan review evaluations.
Foreman
Pay range $24-$30 an hour with2-3% annual performance-based raises, also potential job bonus based off completion dates
- Must have worked through and fully understand all aspects of both Journeymen and General Laborer positions
- Work cohesively with superintendent and project manager regarding project and staff scheduling required for all projects
- Must have clear understanding and physicality of all projects in operations
- Work cohesively with superintendent regarding execution of change orders with customer and or suppliers
- Must be able to manage, multi-task and instruct all phases of the projects in progress
- Must have a full understanding of building plans and building layout. Must have a pre-emptive understanding of permitting, D.E.S.C. plans, plotting, site pans and be able to understand HOA and/or area requirements
- Must produce progress reports daily
- Must take and upload progress pictures to company cam daily
- Safety meetings to be performed daily and noted on progress reports (10 min. meeting time)
- Tardiness will not be tolerated as noted in the company notebook
